Laura Blakeney, Certified Master Trainer
Laura Blakeney, our Certified Master Trainer, completed her certification at K-9 Companions of Lake Matthews, CA. Laura began as a kennel tech, worked her way up as an assistant trainer, then passed all written and verbal tests.
Laura is also a CGC (Canine Good Citizen) Evaluator for the American Kennel Club, which requires two years minimum experience working with dogs and their owners, as well as, passing a written exam.
Laura believes the best way to train your dog is by using what already comes naturally to him. By using a dogs keen sense of smell, taste, prey drive, body language, as well as many other abilities, training your dog will make sense to both you and him.
Laura has countless hours working with dogs of all temperaments and issues. Training tools such as slip collars and prong collars (for those who may need them) will be used to train your dog, which can allow your dog to be off-leashed trained (clicker and harness free)
Lessons are meant to last you and your dog a lifetime.
I have a 16 month old Rhodesian Ridgeback male. Rhodesians are athletic, strong, bright and headstrong, all of which require the application of special training techniques. I brought him to Laura several weeks ago and his progress has been stunning. I heartily recommend Ms. Blakeney and Paws and Claws for your kennel and training needs.

Attended the
5-field lessons w/his dog Tshaka.
This is a very big thank you for Laura – she is certainly in a special job and very talented. It was worth every penny to spend the 5 lessons with her. I learned so much watching her. Patient with Daisy and with me. There was such a great change in Daisy from first to last. I'll continue to practice with such good examples. Paws & Clas is a wonderful place to take my dogs and I tell everybody that. Thank you so much. Daisy had so much fun running in that area with all those dogs.
